At the start of the construction activities on a certain terrain, the first and most important requirement is for the construction site to be protected.
This includes a number of activities, which when being completed ensure the safety of both the builders and the adjacent buildings and facilities, as well as the safety of the people, animals and vehicles passing nearby.
The organization of the safety includes construction of a temporary fence, which shall surround the construction site.
After the excavation works are implemented, they should also be secured so that the slopes remain stable and not crumble under heavy rainfall, snowfall, strong winds, movement of equipment, people, etc.
During the organization of the safety of the construction site shall also be taken into account the need for proper drainage of the excavation, so that it does not retain water.
The construction sites should be well lit at night and shall have signs to inform the pedestrians and drivers for the ongoing construction works.
The sidewalks that are bordering the fence of the construction site must also be secured. When the construction of the building has reached a level above the ground one, they shall have stable and strong sheds and scaffolds.
The construction sites in the central parts of the cities and the areas that generate serious flows of people and vehicles must be secured with vertical safety nets around each of their facades. The exits and entrances to the construction sites must also be clearly marked.
